One more Conference Note

One other Conference related note

I loved the Press Conference Sunday in between sessions with the new YW presidency. What powerful, strong, beautiful women. I was surprised to find out through one of the reporters questions that Sister Dibbs is President Monson's daughter, who knew, She gave some great answers to questions that were asked and so this morning as I was reviewing other conference blogs I came across this article. It is a talk that she recently gave at a BYU Idaho devotional. I hope you enjoy it...I did

General Conference

This is an introduction statement to the next several entry’s on my Blog.

I am a huge fan of General Conference. (General Conference = A twice annual conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.) I love to be uplifted by the church leaders and I love to chat about the talks with friends and family. The following few posts are going to be some reflections I had while listening to each of the talks. I would love to hear your opinions about the topics. It lifts me to know that I am not alone in my love of conference so please please comment on your favorite talks.

If you are not interested, just scroll down the page further or wait a few days and regular blogging will continue.

SO I have been thinking about Elder Ballard’s Talk

I enjoyed watching this talk with my Husband and children around me. I do not think I am consider a young mother anymore, therefore I have time to surf the internet (just kidding). I do believe that he taught with much love and understanding. It was so nice to feel his love and concern for the mothers of the church. I found point 3 interesting to “Find some time for yourself” and “avoid any kind of substance abuse.” Do you think that means Diet Coke???(I don’t think so)

SO I have been thinking about Elder Bednar’s Talk

I always feel like his talks are planned out with such love and understanding. I feel like he is a masterful teacher and I needed to hear his teachings on meaningful pray today.

I often need to work on moving beyond the checklist type prays.

SO I have been thinking about Sister Tanner’s Talk

What a DELIGHT her talk was. I delight in many of the same things that she does and I delight in great woman leaders like her.

So I have been thinking about Elder Lund’s Talk

How important the Heart is

“Carefully assessing the conditions of our hearts is one of the most important things we can do today.”

“It must be our own free will to open our hearts”

“Why are they not chosen – because their HEARTS are upon the things of this world.”

Today my heart is set upon the words that I have just heard, but what will it be set upon tomorrow.

So I have been thinking about Elder Hales’ Talk

I loved his comments on the Solemn Assembly and how it was not a vote that we cast this morning but a private covenant to support the prophet.

This talk also for me emphasized personal testimony. As I listened to all of this emphasize on getting your own testimony it made me wonder if our testimonies are going to be increasingly challenged and only those that are deep rooted will survive…..
