SO I have been thinking about Elder Wirthlin’s Talk

I loved his first statement (or under-statement) “ The church is stronger because of President Hinckley”. I loved how all of the Apostles paid tribute to missing that great man. Pres. Eyring went as far as carrying a Cane in his honor (just kidding)

I loved what Elder Wirthlin said about Elder Uchtdorf . To him Uchtdorf represents “All Is Well”. And I loved his message about how we need to have compassion for all. There is no sign on the church that says only for perfect people. As I listened to this talk I thought about many people I have know through my life that are less active in the church now. Could I get up the nerve to send this talk and message to a few of them??

And again there was the theme that Elder Nelson had started about how we need to have concern for the “One”. Salvation is an independent operation.

There was also that great charge to just “put your shoulder to the wheel and push” “The Lord needs you”.

SO I have been thinking about Sister Lant’s Talk

Wow, another one of my favorites!!! Traditions and family, two great subjects. I loved her reference to the YW and YM theme this year, “Be Steadfast and Immovable”. It made me really think when she said that the traditions we are creating in our homes will make it easier or harder for our children. I sure hope I am making it easier. I am going to work harder on “building righteous traditions”.

So I have been thinking about K Johnson’s Talk

I loved the poem he read at the end. I will post it hear as soon as it is available. It was called “When God Makes a Promise” After listening to this talk I started to think that maybe tradition had been broken and each of the speakers were given a specific theme to speak on and the theme of the morning session must have been Family, Family, Family. (or maybe it was just coincidence)

SO I have been thinking about R. Rasband’s Talk

I loved this talk. It reminded me how important personal testimony is and the events in my life that have shaped my testimony. I loved his concept of “The Building Blocks of Testimony” and how these experiences, good or bad will bring us conviction.

SO I have been thinking about Elder Nelson’s Talk

After I listened to this talk I thought to myself, that’s all I need, I do not need any more from this conference, he said it all……I loved his whole emphasize on Salvation being an individual matter but Exhalation is a family matter.

I almost turned the T.V. off when he said “Parents should not control Your Children…” “WHAT, that is what I have been working on for 13 years????” But I do understand his concept of guiding instead of controlling sort of like the song …. “Lead me, guide me walk beside me, Help me find the way” I am sure as we head into these teenage years I will need this encouragement instead of the controlling.

I need to always remember that the title “Mother” is a sacred calling.

The Good Thing About April Snow

Ok....... So I've been thinking....... I better be a little more positive or "Mother" is going to send more my way.....So here it is.....The good thing about snow this time of year is that it is light enough in the afternoon that the kids can play when they get home from school. Since homework is lighter this week because they are just coming off of Spring Break, Abby and Kate went outside today and this is what they came up with. What fun!!

April 1st

This is Mother Nature's way of saying "Happy April 1st Kristi" or "April Fools Day" you choose.

I hear it will melt by the end of the week but I have my doubts....no I am not bitter.....
